Lifeline

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

Summary

Lifeline has no server or backend. Everything you enter — your profile, medical information, and trusted contacts — is stored only in this app on your device. Disguise-mode recordings stay temporarily in the app's memory while you use it and are only kept permanently if you choose to download them to your device. Lifeline does not transmit, upload, sell, or share your data with us, with advertisers, or with any other third party. We cannot see your data, because it never leaves your phone.

What we store, and why

How your data is used

Your data is used exclusively to provide Lifeline's own features on your device: showing the right emergency numbers, pre-filling an SOS message for you to review and send through your phone's own Messages app, displaying your medical information to you (or whoever you choose to show it to) in an emergency, and storing evidence recordings you create yourself.

Lifeline does not use your data for advertising, analytics, profiling, or any purpose other than the one you used the feature for.

Sharing with third parties

Lifeline does not share any of your data with us or with third parties. The only place your data ever goes is to the people you explicitly choose: when you send an SOS message, it is handed to Apple's own Messages app, pre-filled for your review — you decide whether to send it and to whom.

Storage, retention, and deletion

All data stays on your device for as long as you keep it in the app. You can edit or delete your profile, medical information, trusted contacts, or recordings at any time directly in the app. Uninstalling Lifeline permanently deletes all locally stored data, since nothing is kept anywhere else.

Children's privacy

Lifeline does not knowingly collect data from anyone beyond what the person using the app chooses to enter themselves, and nothing entered is transmitted off the device.
